Our Struggle

Our major challenge is accessing essential resources, while raising the money needed to sustainably advance our nonprofit missions.

The basic needs in our communities are continuously increasing, which means that demands on our nonprofit charitable capabilities steadily and significantly increase, yet without the corresponding resources, it will be impossible to relieve the suffering in our communities.

Our reports for the last 3 years demonstrated an 80% increase in demands in all of our services.

So far all our funds have been donations from philanthropic individuals.

There are growing needs for service in communities, however with withdrawals of government support from social programs, we are being outpaced in our sector’s current ability to address the immediate needs of the community.

Struggle #1:

Retaining & Engaging Donors: Without Donors, we’d be nothing; they’re the bread and butter of our mission. We need to keep donors engaged and let them know that they’re part of the team and remind them that they’re one of the most important parts of our organization.
We want to make sure that we are honoring those who have believed and invested in us and are keeping them aware of our continuing story. The fear is the inability to keep contributors interested because it will take a huge amount of effort on our part. However, it’s not a wasted effort; those lasting relationships will help us cultivate future donations and continued support.

Struggle #2:

Sustainability: Just because we have a great mission, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee that we will be around for years to come.
It’s a harsh truth, but it’s just the reality; we have to keep viability in mind with the future of our organization at stake.
How do we create a sustainable business model when many of our clients are struggling financially?
We have to obtain the right resources, from the right places, at the right time. We have relied on those strong relationships that we have built over time. We have also pooled all our supplementary resources together to reduce our costs in whatever way we can.

Struggle #3:

Insufficient Resources: We are made aware of the fact that we are not working for money or wages; we don’t have the privilege of easily attaining resources.
In order to create, we must deal with the resources that we do have, call upon volunteers, and select board members who can contribute in multiple ways. A change in mindset and a change in practice are the keys to meeting the demands of our nonprofit’s constituency. Our nonprofit must establish our own innovative ways to operate; our mission will not change, but how we go about conducting it will always needs to change and adapt.
